Clinical Applications Engineer, Fluorescence Imaging
Intuitive Surgical
Clinical Applications Engineer supporting fluorescence imaging clinical trials at a medical device company. Serves as field-based expert for site training, procedural support, and workflow optimization across surgical imaging platforms.
Responsibilities
- Train surgeons, pathologists, coordinators, and site personnel on protocol-defined imaging procedures
- Provide on-site technical support during fluorescence imaging procedures and early adoption phases
- Develop expertise in surgical, pathology, and specimen-processing workflows to identify optimization opportunities
- Review imaging and procedural data for quality assurance and protocol compliance
- Support pathology correlation workflows and facilitate communication between surgical and pathology teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Science, Nursing, or Life Sciences
- Minimum 5 years experience supporting clinical trials, imaging products, or surgical technologies
- Direct experience working with physicians and clinical trial sites
- Strong understanding of pathology workflows and clinical data collection
- Proficiency with complex technical systems and critical care environments
- Ability to travel 60-80% with flexibility for urgent support across geographies
