Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN - Telemetry with cardiac experience for a Level I Trauma Center's Heart & Vascular Center, requiring 2+ years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Job Details

• 13-week travel assignment in a hospital's Heart & Vascular Center Telemetry unit,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM),
• Average patient ratio of 1:4,
• Cardiac telemetry patient population including post-cardiac cath, post-MI, and post-angiogram cases,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• Floating required,
• Uses Epic charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted),
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel experience),
• Cardiac experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams,
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration,
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration),
• Experience with heparin protocols and pacemaker management (temporary/permanent),
• 1 professional reference required,

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care within a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center setting,
• Monitor cardiac patients and respond to dysrhythmias and emergency situations,
• Royal blue scrub color required,
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted,
• COVID vaccine and booster required with medical/religious exemptions only,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a travel employee,
• Requests for RTO greater than 7 days require additional approval,
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local,
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
