Material HandlerPay Rate $22.50/hour to $23.00/hour Duration 6 Months Hours - either Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat - 4 on 3 off 6am-4:30pm 4pm-2:30am Location Bay Point, CAQualifications:Education: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Ability to pass Forklift certification within first 30 days.Ability to pass basic mathematics proficiency requirements and skills assessment testing.Must have full command of the English language, which includes reading, writing, and speaking.Demonstrated proficiency at routine mathematics, which includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.Must be computer literate.The employee must have excellent attendance record.The employee must be available for rotating or designated shifts and be flexible about working overtime hours as needed.Physical Requirements:This position requires the ability to perform physical labor.Must be able to regularly lift 65 pounds and safely manipulate packaged material weighing up to 650 pounds.Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing environment.Experience:Proficient at routine mathematics, which includes addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.Processing Information -- calculating, tabulating, auditing, and/or verifying information or data.Fast-paced warehouse/shipping/office environment.Performance Expectations:Ability to take direction from multiple individuals and work effectively in a team environment.Adhere to high standards of attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.Must be able to multi-task.Able to adjust to changes in workflow, prioritize as needed, and meet deadlines.Must maintain high level of energy and professionalism on the job.Must be able to retain information and training.Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized assigned work area at the end of the assigned shift.Responsibilities:Job Summary: A Material Handler is responsible for all aspects of handling materials safely in the warehouse. This position reports to the Receiving Supervisor, but may receive direction and training form other designated personnel. Employees in this position must be able to train others to perform routine tasks.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Primarily responsible includes; receipt, storage, maintenance, retrieval and distribution of materials and products.Follow the instructions of the warehouse supervisor.Must be able to keep on schedule with minimal supervision.Possess a complete knowledge of all equipment within the department.Follows proper material storage and handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.Demonstrates initiative in making suggestions to improve procedures, offering better ways to meet customer expectations, and bridging ideas into actions with guidance from supervisor.Must be able to give timely and accurate recording and reporting.Possess complete knowledge of the following SAP software for their specific function.Process and verification of scheduled process orders to include:Pulling Correct Raw Materials/Finished GoodsPulling Correct Batch NumberPulling Correct QuantityVerifying and updating inventory accuracy both quantity and location accuracy as neededCommunicating shortages both verbally and in writing on the process orders and on the Schedules for Warehouse and PlanningBenefits:Health insuranceHealth savings accountDental insuranceVision insuranceFlexible spending accountsLife insuranceRetirement planWe also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.
