MUST BE US CITIZEN

• Someone with strong fabrication and blueprint-reading skills

• Sets up and operates machines such as drill presses, punch presses, shears, bending rolls, brakes, grinders and numerical control equipment to shape and alter sheetmetal according to specifications. 

• Follows blueprints, rough sketches or engineer drawings to shape metal accurately. 

• Question: Are candidates required to interpret engineering drawings independently? Preferable independently Candidates required to interpret engineering drawing

• Uses hand and power tools to shape and smooth metal and to blend seams. Question: What precision measuring tools are used regularly? Calibers

• May set up and operate soldering and welding equipment. 

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. 

• Question: Could a candidate with less experience but strong technical aptitude be considered? YES

• Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 

• Works under immediate supervision.

• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

4. If you could only choose one qualification, would you rather hire someone with aerospace sheet metal experience or someone with strong fabrication and blueprint-reading skills who can learn the aerospace environment?

Special Considerations: 

• Lifting will exceed 30 Lbs. and/or repetitions of this or lesser weights will be significant. Exposure to substantial machine, chemical, biological or other physical risks are anticipated.
