Position Summary

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment within the warehouse. This position supports the implementation of safety policies, conducts inspections and training, investigates incidents, and works closely with supervisors and employees to reduce workplace hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of safety throughout the warehouse by encouraging safe work practices.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; document findings and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training for new hires and existing employees, including required refresher training.
• Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and other compliance records.
• Monitor compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safe work practices.
• Participate in emergency preparedness planning, including evacuation procedures, fire prevention, and emergency response drills.
• Collaborate with warehouse management to implement corrective actions and continuously improve workplace safety.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to reduce workplace injuries.
• Assist with regulatory inspections and respond to safety-related inquiries from regulatory agencies.
• Track safety performance metrics and prepare reports for management.
• Stay current on applicable safety regulations and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred.
• One to three years of experience in warehouse safety, manufacturing, logistics, or a related environment preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct training and communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic recordkeeping systems.
• Safety certifications (such as OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, or similar) are preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, and move throughout a warehouse for extended periods.
