Health And Wellness Educator

Serves as a mentor, educator, and advocate for personal health and wellness.

Responsibilities:

• Perform community biometric screenings including lipids and glucose via fingerstick, blood pressure, height and weight for Larimer and Weld County schools and communities.
• May perform heart health biometric screening including lipids and glucose via fingerstick, blood pressure, height, and weight depending on skills.
• Collaborates on the development and implementation of health and wellness activities that promote personal wellness.
• Delivers general and specialized group educational opportunities on Health topics, including weight and stress management, risk prevention and reduction, and living with specific health conditions.
• Provides assessment and coaching to individuals to help them develop and achieve Health goals, including personal empowerment, lifestyle changes, and behavior modification.
• Evaluates and reports on the success of wellness programs based on participant satisfaction and Health outcomes. Provides guidance on wellness initiatives based on knowledge of industry trends, developments, and best practices.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider or Heartsaver CPR AED certification.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
