Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Grand Rapids, MI . This opportunity is with a nationally recognized behavioral health organization providing compassionate, patient-centered inpatient psychiatric care.

The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess patients, develop individualized care plans, administer treatments, provide therapeutic support, and promote a safe healing environment for patients experiencing mental health conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Provide direct nursing care to inpatient behavioral health patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and report significant changes to physicians.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge planning.
• Promote a safe therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and healthcare teams.
• Assist with crisis intervention and behavioral management.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and provide leadership when functioning as Charge Nurse.

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN License (required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Behavioral Health nursing experience
• Pediatric Behavioral Health experience required
• Current BLS Certification
• Strong communication, assessment, and crisis intervention skills

Assignment Details

• 13-Week Travel Contract
• 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
