Grow your clinical expertise while making a meaningful impact on patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.How you grow, learn and thrive matters here.Educational and career development options, including tuition and certification reimbursement, scholarship opportunitiesStaff Safety (a wearable badge that allows nurses to quickly and discreetly call for help when safety is a concern)Differentials for night/weekend shifts, higher education, certifications and various lead roles (for eligible positions)Malpractice liability insuranceLoan forgiveness through the New Mexico Higher Education DepartmentEPIC electronic charting systemType of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 0.90 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Nights (United States of America)Responsibilities:Under the supervision of the Respiratory Medical Director, the Respiratory Therapist provides cardiopulmonary diagnostic and respiratory therapeutic services for hospital patients and outpatients requiring diagnostic testing, respiratory treatments, and ventilatory support.Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates respiratory care interventions based on patient needs and physician orders.Administers respiratory therapies, medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management treatments in accordance with established protocols.Monitors, manages, and troubleshoots ventilators, artificial airways, and other life-support equipment to ensure safe and effective patient care.Performs cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures, including pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas collection, and EKGs as applicable.Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to support optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.Educates patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, equipment use, and home care instructions.Documents patient assessments, treatments, responses, and clinical observations accurately in the medical record.Maintains compliance with regulatory, safety, infection prevention, and departmental standards.Qualifications:Registered Respiratory Therapy Technician QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy requiredCurrent New Mexico Respiratory Care Board licensure as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP) requiredCurrent Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) requiredCurrent American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification requiredACLS certification preferredOne to three years of respiratory care experience preferred, new grads encouraged to applyCertified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) QualificationsCompletion of an accredited trade or vocational Respiratory Care program requiredCurrent New Mexico Respiratory Care Board licensure as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP) requiredCurrent Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) requiredCurrent American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification requiredOne to three years of respiratory care experience preferred, new grads encouraged to applyAdditional Requirements (Applicable to All Candidates)Candidates hired for this position must obtain ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications within 90 days of hireWe're all about well-being, starting with yours.Presbyterian employees have access to a fun, engaging and unique wellness program, including free on-site and community-based gyms, nutrition coaching and classes, mindfulness and meditation resources, wellness challenges and more.Learn more about our employee benefits.About Presbyterian Healthcare ServicesPresbyterian exists to improve the health of patients, members, and the communities we serve.
