Part-Time, Hourly Nutritionist 1, 2, or 3*

Part‑Time, Hourly Nutritionist (Levels 1, 2, or 3) District 4 WIC Program, Region A (Carroll, Heard, & Troup Counties) Carroll County WIC & Nutrition Center, 1004 Newnan Road, Carrollton, GA 30116 Hours: Up to 29 hours per week (minimum 24 hours per week). Part‑time, hourly position. Under supervision, plans and conducts nutritional programs to assist in promotion of health and control of disease. Provides nutritional assessment, education, and counseling to individuals, groups, or the public. Serves as a resource on nutrition for nurses, health educators, or other health care providers in the facility. May be called to participate in emergency staffing events as an essential employee. Responsibilities Assesses nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary‑care plans and provide counseling. Consults with physicians and healthcare personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of clients. Advises clients and families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. Counsels individuals and groups on good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve quality of life. Develops policies for food service or nutritional programs to assist in health promotion and disease control. Develops curriculum and prepares manuals, visual aids, course outlines, and other teaching materials. Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates strategies for promoting and supporting breastfeeding. Qualifications Nutritionist 1: Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods, and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related accredited field plus verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by ACEND. Nutritionist 2: Bachelor’s degree in an accredited field plus verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by ACEND and two years of job‑related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals or two years of experience at the lower level Dietitian/Nutritionist 1 or equivalent. Nutritionist 3: Bachelor’s degree in an accredited field plus verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by ACEND and three years of job‑related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals or two years of experience at the lower level Dietitian/Nutritionist 2 or equivalent. Required to be a Registered & Licensed Dietitian. NOTE: Candidates without a verification statement, who meet the following criteria, may be eligible: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a nutrition field from an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) but did not earn a verification statement; a letter from the program director can serve as coursework verification. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health Nutrition from an accredited university that meets specific coursework criteria as outlined by the program. Preferred Qualifications Bi‑lingual (Spanish/English language). Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5. Additional Perks A supportive and rewarding work environment. Physical activity breaks.
