We are looking for a Payroll Analyst to join a Baton Rouge, Louisiana team in a Contract to permanent role. This position focuses on strengthening payroll and workforce program compliance by reviewing data, supporting audits, and helping maintain accurate reporting across compensation, timekeeping, tax, and programs. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, a solid understanding of payroll regulations, and the confidence to work across departments to reduce risk and improve operational performance.

Responsibilities:

• Examine payroll, compensation, timekeeping, and workforce program information to identify trends, exceptions, and areas requiring corrective action.

• Produce reports, scorecards, and dashboard insights that help leaders monitor compliance exposure and improve process effectiveness.

• Perform internal reviews of payroll activity, compensation-related data, work authorization arrangements, education assistance programs, and eligibility for forgiveness initiatives.

• Track updates to federal, state, and local requirements affecting payroll, tax treatment, and employee assistance programs, then help translate those changes into practical controls and procedures.

• Maintain organized audit support, reconciliations, compliance records, and reporting documentation to support governance and financial accuracy.

• Collaborate with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, Talent Acquisition, and operational teams to validate data integrity and resolve discrepancies.

• Provide guidance and training materials for managers and stakeholders on payroll compliance expectations, policy requirements, and program administration.

• Recommend and support process improvements that enhance accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and reduce compliance risk across payroll operations.

• At least 5 years of experience in payroll, human resources, compliance, workforce program administration, healthcare operations, or a closely related field.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or another relevant discipline.

• Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll in environments with large employee populations, including payroll for more than 500 employees.

• Working knowledge of multi-state payroll practices, payroll tax administration, and payroll tax reporting requirements.

• Proficiency with payroll and enterprise platforms such as Oracle Cloud, ADP Workforce Now and Kronos.

• Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze data, reconcile records, and prepare clear reporting for stakeholders.

• Understanding of internal audit practices and employment-related compliance standards.

• Payroll certification or advanced expertise in payroll compliance is preferred.
