Position: Production Planner

Location: Frederick, MD

Pay: $65,000 - $70,000/year

Shift: 1st

Full-Time | Direct Hire position

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Planner to join the manufacturing team in a direct hire capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing production schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, and maintaining seamless coordination across supply chain and operations functions. This role plays a vital part in driving efficiency, reducing waste, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the plant. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in production management, MRP systems such as SAP, and lean manufacturing principles to enhance overall plant productivity.

Responsibilities of the Production Planner:

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules aligned with customer demands, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
• Utilize MRP systems like SAP to plan, monitor, and adjust production workflows effectively.
• Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels through accurate MRP (Material Requirements Planning) processes.
• Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to enhance throughput.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams on assembly processes, quality control standards, and process improvements.
• Analyze supply chain data to support operations management decisions and improve supply chain analytics.
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement by applying lean manufacturing techniques and process optimization strategies.
• Manage plant operations by ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality specifications, and production deadlines.
• Support plant management in implementing manufacturing best practices and operational excellence programs.

Requirements for the Production Planner position:

• Bachelor’s degree Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field preferred
• 3+ years production/planning/scheduling work experience in a manufacturing supply chain
• Manufacturing Planning experience with high-customization, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing, make to order environment
• Strong analytical and decision-making ability
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
• Sound understanding of ERP functional flows and requirement generations
• Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
