Estimator - Custom/Semi Custom Homes
Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team specializing in custom and semi-custom homes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids, and ensuring that all estimates align with project specifications and budgets. This role plays a critical part in the successful execution of residential construction projects. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for custom and semi-custom home projects based on project specifications and plans.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Review and adjust estimates as needed based on project changes or client requests.
- Maintain a database of historical costs and use it to inform future estimates and improve accuracy.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and bid presentations to communicate estimate details and answer questions.
- Ensure all estimates comply with local regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating for residential construction, specifically single-family homes.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with clients and subcontractors.
