Respiratory Therapist Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position, starting around 10/23 through around 1/22/27. Schedule Day shift, 3x12.0 hours. Job Description The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, operating within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision. This role requires the evaluation of patients and the formulation of treatment plans along with the education of patients regarding their treatments upon discharge. Responsibilities Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using various ventilatory equipment, non-invasive and invasive methods, oxygen, aerosol devices, and nebulizers. Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning through various methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal). Monitor patient oximetry and capnography according to policy. Review and evaluate patient's chest X-rays and conduct pulmonary function studies. Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care. Manage arterial punctures and record monitoring results, communicating effectively with physicians regarding patient progress. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of treatments and charges. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in alignment with BLS and ACLS guidelines. Facilitate preventative maintenance and repair of respiratory equipment as necessary. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Must possess a valid respiratory therapy license. Additional certifications such as ACLS and BLS are preferred. Why ARMStaffing?
