Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be comfortable titrating and managing the majority of these drips: Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Insulin. Must be able to interpret telemetry strips.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Night shift will try to accommodate block scheduling.

Unit Details: Patient ratios: PCU 1:4; MedSurg Tele 1:5-6. Geriatric and ortho patients; post-procedural cath lab patients, groin site care in stepdown, post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and CABG post-op day 3-4. Each unit has a charge nurse who does not take assignments. Nurse aids are utilized in all settings. CPAP or BiPap at night in MedSurg; BiPAP, CPAP, and Heated High flow in PCU. PCU and MedSurg Tele use monitor techs.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holidays follow the permanent staff rotation. Standby may occur on shifts with excessive staff; clinicians may be placed on standby for their 12 hour shift and called in at any point during those 12 hours if needed. The float pool scheduler makes the schedule. Schedule is published 6 weeks out for 4 weeks at a time. Travelers will need to be flexible.

Floating Requirements: First to float. Float pool includes ICU, MedSurg Tele, PCU, and inpatient holds in the ED across both campuses. Assignments may be across both campuses; clinicians are notified 2 hours prior to the start of their shift by text message from the staffing office. Distance between campuses is around 20-25 minutes.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
