Art Director

BambooHR is hiring a senior Art Director to join its creative team as an individual contributor, focused on developing and delivering high-impact creative solutions from early concept through final production. In this hybrid role based in Draper, UT, you will translate strategy and brand intent into clear visual and conceptual work across a wide range of channels, while setting creative standards for craft, clarity, and effectiveness. Role overview Own visual and conceptual development end-to-end, from exploration and refinement to final production. Translate briefs, business goals, audience insights, and campaign strategy into executable creative systems and strong conceptual routes. Help define the brand’s visual territory, supporting consistent expression across the market. Responsibilities Develop original campaign and brand concepts that turn strategic direction into compelling creative expressions and deliverables. Create and direct visual solutions across digital, web, social, paid media, video, presentations, lifecycle, events, and other campaign touchpoints. Partner with creative leaders, writers, designers, motion creatives, video partners, marketers, and cross-functional stakeholders to produce integrated creative work. Balance originality, brand alignment, clarity, and effectiveness while maintaining a high bar for detail and craft. Explore multiple creative directions quickly, using iteration to strengthen ideas and identify the best solution. Present concepts and creative rationale clearly to peers, partners, and senior stakeholders. Provide constructive feedback and uphold visual expression across disciplines to support stronger outcomes. Stay current on design, advertising, video, visual storytelling, and emerging creative methods, including AI-enabled tools and workflows, and apply them thoughtfully. Support production and execution with consistency, quality, and fidelity to the intended creative direction. Contribute to and model standards for concepting, craft, visual excellence, and creative problem-solving across the team. Requirements 7+ years of experience in art direction, brand, campaign, advertising, or integrated creative roles. A strong portfolio showing conceptual range, visual excellence, and high-quality execution across multiple channels and formats. Proven ability to translate high-level strategy or creative direction into clear, specific, compelling creative work. Strength in both concept development and execution, with an ideas-focused center of gravity as well as visual craft. Ability to collaborate effectively with senior creative leaders, cross-functional partners, and creative peers. Advanced proficiency in visual design principles including typography, layout, composition, and brand expression. Strong understanding of campaign development and how visual systems extend across integrated experiences. Ability to iterate quickly, explore multiple routes, and refine based on feedback without losing creative quality. Excellent presentation, communication, and storytelling skills. Strong judgment and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain high standards under deadline pressure. Working knowledge of adjacent disciplines such as copy, motion, and video, with the ability to collaborate effectively across them. Familiarity with evolving creative tools, workflows, and AI-enabled methods. Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art Direction, Advertising, Copywriting, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience (required). Must be able to communicate effectively in person, in virtual meetings, and in written formats. Must be able to occasionally move materials or equipment up to 15 pounds .
