We have an excellent opportunity for a Medical Technologist to join our Clinical Pathology team dedicated to Early Development Animal Research studies in Greenfield, IN.

Schedule: Daytime hours

Job Responsibilities

• The Medical Technologist performs established procedures for non-clinical testing as required in all assigned laboratory disciplines and is responsible for analyzing specimens whose results are then reported to the pharmaceutical company.
• Responsible for analyzing animal specimens in conjunction with early development drug studies
• Document and resolve any specimen discrepancies. Notify laboratory management when specimen discrepancies are not resolved.
• Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of specimens.
• Ensure the validity of test results through the performance of established quality control procedures. Interpret quality control results according to established departmental procedures.
• Resolve routine and non-routine assay problems.
• Prepare workstation and instrumentation for the assigned testing
• Operate instruments to perform testing in accordance with established written procedures.
• Receive, open and place in service all reagents according to SOPs.
• Prepare and properly label reagents and document according to SOPs.
• Process and ship samples according to study specific instructions.
• Perform maintenance on instruments and equipment daily, weekly, monthly, and document.
• Open to candidates that are scheduled but have not yet taken ASCP or AMT certification

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree and completion of at least 12-month training program in Medical Technology OR Bachelor's degree in a chemistry, biology or related science field AND one year training and/or experience working in hospital or similar laboratory performing clinical laboratory testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years of experience working in hospital or clinical laboratory setting.

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortable working with samples that have come for animal research
