Laboratory Technologist - Blood Bank

This is a night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekends and 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays, following a 7 on 7 off rotation.

The Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing advanced blood bank tests and related laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and hematology, with the ability to operate in a transitioning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct advanced blood bank testing and analysis.
• Perform chemistry and hematology laboratory procedures.
• Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols and regulations.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Adapt to system transitions, including the implementation of Cerner for Blood Bank operations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• ASCP or equivalent certification required.
• 2 years of experience is required; 5 years preferred.
• Experience in blood bank, advanced chemistry, and hematology.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to a floating schedule.
