HistotechnicianLocation: White Plains, NYOnsite Flexibility: OnsiteContract DetailsPosition Type: ContractContract Duration: 2 monthsPay Rate: $45.00–$55.00 / Hour (USD)Shift / Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PMWork Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Key ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision and according to policies and procedures, perform routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by pathologist(s)Process paperwork associated with accessioning and reportingEnsure proper tissue processingUnder general supervision, perform embedding and microtomy for select specimen types as defined by Histology Manager/SupervisorPrepare slides for routine Hematoxylin and Eosin stainingPerform coverslipping of stained slides either manually or automatedUnder general supervision, perform special stains under approval of/at discretion of Histology Manager/SupervisorPerform routine maintenance and cleaning of non-complex equipmentPerform filing of finished blocks and slidesAdhere to laboratory's quality control policies, and document all quality control activitiesEnsure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are metEnsure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulationsMaintain a clean and well-organized work areaOther duties, as assigned by supervisorEducation RequirementsA.A. or A.S. degree and one year of experience within the last 10 years, OR H.S. education or equivalent and 5 years full-time acceptable experience as a Histotechnician within the last 10 yearsHT (ASCP) or ASCP eligible OR five years of full-time experience in the last 10 yearsNYS laboratory license requiredWork Environment / Physical RequirementsOvertime expectedBenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the ClientThis client is a leading provider of diagnostic laboratory and healthcare information services, operating at national scale and serving one in three adult Americans annually while supporting half of the physicians and hospitals across the United States, with laboratory operations extending internationally.
