Job Description:

Join a growing organization that is building a new digital product function from the ground up. As a Senior UI/UX Designer, \ Product Designer you will partner closely with Product from the earliest stages of discovery to research customer problems, test hypotheses, prototype concepts, and ultimately bring entirely new web and mobile products to market.

This is not a traditional UX role focused on maintaining established products or redesigning websites. You will be one of the founding members of the Design organization, with significant influence over the products being created and how Design operates as the team scales. The environment combines the entrepreneurial nature of a startup with the resources and stability of an established organization.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end UI/UX design process for brand-new digital products, from customer discovery and ideation through prototyping, validation, launch, and iteration.
• Partner closely with Product to identify customer problems, challenge assumptions, test hypotheses, and determine which concepts should move forward.
• Conduct external user research, including customer interviews, usability testing, prototype testing, and other human-centered research methods.
• Design sophisticated, functional digital products across web and mobile platforms.
• Create user journeys, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes, visual designs, and detailed specifications for Engineering.
• Establish and evolve a design system from the ground up, creating reusable components and standards that can scale across multiple products.
• Use qualitative research, quantitative metrics, customer behavior, and product data to validate design decisions and measure success.
• Present concepts and recommendations to senior leadership, clearly communicating the rationale and evidence behind design decisions.
• Incorporate AI-enabled design practices into areas such as rapid prototyping, research synthesis, concept development, and workflow acceleration.
• Help establish Design processes, tools, methodologies, and best practices as the Product and Design organization grows.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional UI/UX, Product Design, or digital product design experience.
• Proven 0-to-1 product design experience, personally helping take a brand-new digital/software product from initial discovery through design, validation, and launch.
• Portfolio demonstrating complex functional web and/or mobile applications, rather than primarily marketing websites, corporate websites, or website redesigns.
• Experience creating or establishing a design system from scratch.
• Significant hands-on customer research experience
• Strong capabilities across both UX and UI, including discovery, research, user journeys, interaction design, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and visual design.
• Experience using measurable outcomes, analytics, adoption data, or other numerical success metrics to evaluate and validate designs.
• Experience partnering directly with Product Managers throughout discovery and product development.
• Strong executive presence with experience presenting recommendations and defending design decisions with senior leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and operate effectively when processes and solutions are still being defined.
• Experience incorporating AI into product design, research, or prototyping workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

• B2B, B2B2C, or small/mid-sized business product experience.
• Experience within fintech, financial services, retirement, wealth management, benefits, insurance, healthcare, or another regulated industry.
• Startup, innovation lab, or early-stage product development experience.
• Experience helping establish or scale a Product Design function.
• Leadership, mentorship, or people management experience.
• Experience influencing the selection of design tools, methodologies, and processes.
• Experience measuring product adoption and user experience following launch.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $155,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. This position is also eligible for a 20–22% annual bonus. Final compensation will depend on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
