Studio Apprentice - Fall Session

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island Base Pay $16.00 / Hour Salary: $16/hour Classification: Temporary; Part-time; Seasonal: Fall; Hourly Hours: 9 hours/week academic year Overview The Studio Apprentice works collaboratively with peers and with the Studio Coordinator, a professional artist, to complete projects for clients. Their main job is to learn industry-standard art and design skills appropriate to the studio, develop excellent professional workplace etiquette, and gain the social-emotional skills that support a positive, collaborative work environment. Learning Objectives The purpose of Public Art Elements and principles of design How to maintain a professional artist studio How to collaborate with a team to create a high-quality product How to kindly and compassionately give and receive constructive criticism How to manage time and work within a deadline What it takes to become a professional artist and/or designer Qualifications No experience with art or design required Maintain an academic average of C or above (tutoring is available) Attend BOTH school and work every day Complete all hiring paperwork in collaboration with a parent or legal guardian BEFORE starting the program Successfully pass all BCI requirements Physical Requirements Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island is an equal opportunity employer, drug-free workplace, and complies with ADA regulations as applicable. #J-18808-Ljbffr Rhode Island Commerce
