Registered Nurse - PICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled PICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a dynamic hospital setting on weekends. The RN will float between ICUs and general care units, delivering patient-focused, evidence-based care aligned with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive patient care in PICU, NICU, TICU, CICU, and general care units, adapting to various clinical environments as needed.
• Administer and monitor ICU drips, medications, and pressors according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and responses using Epic EMR.
• Comply with safety standards, including BLS, PALS, and nicotine-free campus policies, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, emergencies, and changes in condition, ensuring swift, effective intervention.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license with active PALS certification recognized by AHA.
• Proven experience in PICU or ICU settings, preferably with Med pass/fail testing competence.
• Must have completed labs, license verification, and GA release within specified timeframes prior to start.
• BSN degree preferred; first-time travelers with relevant skills are accepted.
• Maintain compliance with nicotine-free policies and travel requirements.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team, managing high-acuity patient situations efficiently.
