We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surface Grinder Technician - Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for finish surface grinding machined parts by setting up and operating various manual and CNC grinding machines while maintaining quality, safety standards, records and equipment. You will be asked to verify your competency by presenting a descriptive portfolio of your parts and experience.

Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time

Locations: Position available in Troy, IL and Lee's Summit, MO

Responsibilities

• Set-up, adjust and operate basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories or materials onto the machine.
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
• Measure, examine or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Document actions by completing required paperwork.
• Perform minor mechanical and assembly work as needed.
• Share expertise and knowledge throughout the machine shop.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures always.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• 10 years machining experience with advanced knowledge of machining operations such as grinders, SIP’s, Wire EDMs.
• 15+ years of manual machining skills preferred.
• Must understand basic math and dimensions/tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering plans, procedure manuals and work instructions.
• Forklift / Crane certified.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• MasterCam wire knowledge.
• Experience with GDT and CMM inspection methods.
• SPC, Lean MFG and Process Improvement.
