Qualifications Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in North Carolina with current licensure. Active member of APTA encouraged but not required. Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited physical therapy school. CPR certification required every two years. Responsibilities Provide patient care assessment and treatment. Ensure evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional, and in accordance with the Standard of Practice. Provide sound professional judgment in interpreting evaluation results and establishing an acceptable treatment plan with realistic goals. Maintain accurate patient documentation. Complete written patient evaluations, progress notes, discharge notes per policy; ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient/family education, charges, departmental statistics, and ICD‑9 codes as appropriate. Meet department financial and productivity standards. Understand budgeted expectations; maintain productivity. Adjust individual schedules to meet patient and department needs. Participate in process management to optimize quality and efficiency of services. Identify quality and operational opportunities. Promote professional development of other health care workers and provide representation on committees. Conduct in‑service training programs to provide state‑of‑the‑art information and enhance safety. Supervise physical therapy and physical therapy assistant students to develop their clinical skills and ensure delivery of quality patient care. Communicate professionally and timely with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers. Provide appropriate patient care in accordance with age/developmental guidelines. Demonstrate age‑specific knowledge, skills, and abilities for patients served. Adhere to general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment using communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building.
