Associate Field Service Technician

Position Summary The Associate Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining retail store technologies, computer systems and peripherals within retail store and commercial business environments. The role includes product installation, support services and repair on Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions and non‑TOSHIBA retail products in retail banking and SMB marketplaces (e.g., apparel stores, supermarkets, mass merchandising, specialty shops, banks, insurance agents, CPAs, legal firms). The technician must ensure customer satisfaction, meet metrics, and perform full‑workload product and component exchanges, on‑premises diagnostics, adjustments and repairs. Responsibilities also cover equipment refurbishment, relocation, discontinuance, engineering, configuration changes, upgrades, and modifications, following established documentation and procedures. Supervision is provided until the technician is trained to work independently. Responsibilities Operate within an assigned territory, performing basic repairs and diagnostics on products using standard maintenance packages, diagnostics, reference documentation, system tools and service aids. Travel as required within the territory or nationally to conduct installations, relocations, discontinuances, and configuration changes for retail POS equipment. Communicate effectively with customers, management, peers and team members regarding work status, potential problems, satisfaction, and to seek assistance. Complete service events in a timely, high‑quality manner to meet commitments and minimize disruptions. Plan, prioritize and schedule work with assistance to meet or exceed Service Level objectives; arrange travel efficiently using approved tools. Document installation activities accurately in accordance with Toshiba standards, including travel, mileage, timecards, and expense reports. Maintain and manage trunk stock to support all customers. Perform related duties as assigned. Environmental Conditions Driving to multiple customer locations throughout the day. Lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Standing, walking, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting activities during 75% of the normal workday. Use of basic hand tools (drills, screwdrivers, etc.) and air travel may be required. Use of ladders or lifts to access devices on roofs, ceilings or walls may be required. Areas of Expertise & Special Skills High School Diploma with 2+ years of experience in an electronics field. Ability to travel 100% of the time, including domestic and/or air travel. Basic knowledge of personal computer technology, network infrastructure, flat panel TVs & monitors, cash registers/point‑of‑sale equipment, and related retail devices. Mechanical aptitude with competency in electricity & electronics; ability to use test equipment and electronic testing tools. Ability to follow written or spoken directions and provide information clearly and concisely. Excellent customer service skills; multitasking, prioritizing, and independent work capability. Strong written and oral communication skills with diplomacy when dealing with customers. Knowledge of IT signal, power cables, low‑voltage wiring systems; ability to diagnose and repair. Self‑motivated, strong work ethic, high ethics and character, professional demeanor. Problem‑solving and organizational skills. Ability to work long hours, physically demanding environment, and variable shifts including overtime and weekends.
