Medical Director – Anderson Veterinary Clinic Anderson Veterinary Clinic, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a Medical Director to lead medical and surgical care, set standards, mentor staff, and drive operational excellence in the Anderson and greater Redding region of Northern California. About You You are a veterinary leader with a passion for excellence, strong communication, and a collaborative mindset. You will partner with the Practice Manager and hospital leadership to guide medical direction and maintain the highest standards of patient and client care. Responsibilities Provide high‑quality medical and surgical care to patients. Manage, direct, and oversee the medical, surgical, and client service performance of veterinarians. Establish, review, and uphold medical standards, protocols, and best practices. Monitor doctor‑specific KPIs related to medical quality and patient care. Review medical records to ensure accuracy and adherence to hospital standards. Oversee case management, medical decision making, and quality of care. Mentor and support associate veterinarians and clinical teams. Partner with hospital leadership to align medical quality with operational goals. Foster a collaborative, respectful, and positive hospital culture. Address medical concerns, client complaints, and complex cases as needed. Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of veterinarians. Promote continuing education and clinical growth for veterinary teams. Stay current on advances in veterinary medicine and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and ethical guidelines. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree. State Veterinary Board License in good standing in the state of employment. Active DEA license or eligibility for DEA licensure. Proven clinical experience in companion animal veterinary medicine. Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and decision‑making skills.
