Position Available: 1.0 FTE Special Education Teacher

Location: Foley Intermediate School is a 4th-8th-grade school with 775 students and approximately 75 staff members

Start Date: August 25, 2026

Position Summary: As part of the Intermediate special education team, you will be responsible for writing IEPs, conducting IEP meetings, instructing students with a wide range of abilities, assessing student learning, collecting and analyzing student data to plan instruction, creating an engaging and respectful classroom environment, communicating with students, parents and multiple stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, supervising students, managing educational assistants, scheduling, participating in school improvement initiatives, and learning professionally.

Qualifications:

• Current MN Teaching License in EBD, SLD, OHD or ABS preferred.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Knowledge of due process, including referral and assessment procedures and writing IEPs, FBA/BIPs, etc.
• Trained or willing to be trained in Handle With Care

Extra-Curricular Coaching Opportunities Available

In addition to the primary responsibilities of this position, candidates may have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular coaching and student activity advising opportunities, based on qualifications, experience, and district needs. Coaching assignments may include seasonal athletic programs and/or student activities and are compensated separately according to district guidelines and applicable agreements.
