Registered Nurse - OB/GYN

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in OB/GYN provides comprehensive nursing care for maternal and newborn patients, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality, compassionate service. The role involves direct patient care, emergency management, and cross-training to care for Med Surg/EICU patients as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Perform initial nursing assessments, develop individualized care plans, and document patient histories.
• Administer medications accurately and monitor labor progression, including managing induction and cervical ripening.
• Recognize and respond promptly to obstetric emergencies such as prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, and other obstetric complications.
• Conduct fetal heart monitoring and interpret results, managing pregnancy-related issues like hypertension and diabetes.
• Assess newborns, perform neonatal resuscitation, and identify signs of sepsis, hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice.
• Communicate effectively with patients and the care team, ensuring timely alerts for any changes in patient condition.

Qualifications:

• Hold a two-year nursing degree; a four-year degree is preferred.
• Possess and maintain an active Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
• Complete BLS certification within 1 month of hire and NRP within 6 months.
• Obtain STABLE certification within 1 year and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification within 1 year.
• Demonstrate exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and clinical judgment in a high-pressure environment.
