Senior Controls Technician

Senior MaintenanceThe Industrial Technician/Programmer will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. JELD-WEN offers a great benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, disability, paid time off and holidays.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Design, develop, test, and support controls systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFD's, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotic integrationEnsure electrical equipment fulfills all required compliance, safety, and environmental requirements.Read and comprehend plans and blueprints as appropriate to the trade.Perform and support changeovers and start-ups for all electrical equipment.Maintain and safely operate all tools and equipment used to accomplish tasks.Overtime will be required for assisting in shift electrician coverage, trouble calls regarding electrical matters, and meeting needs.Assist in determining, maintaining, and organizing electrical spare part inventoriesSupport commissioning efforts for new projects and systems onsite at customer facilitiesProvide technical support and onsite troubleshooting and repair for customersEnsure all relevant safety objectives are observed for all work completedCreate customer documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, network diagrams, and electrical drawingsMaintain accurate records and files according to quality standards and customer requirementsModify systems upon customer's request and document the changes accordinglyCommunicate with shift managers and electricians to locate possible problem areasCommunicate with management to obtain job assignments, receive special instruction, report deficiencies, and communicate non-traditional tasks prior to startingOther duties as required or assigned by managementQualifications:Valid Driver's License2-4-year Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred1+ year of experience in process control and automationCritical thinking and exceptional problem-solving skillsProactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environmentAbility to balance multiple projects in an organized mannerAbility to work independently and in team environmentsWorking knowledge of MS Office productivity softwareGood understanding of mechanical principals is a plusFamiliarity with reading and creating CAD drawings using AutoCAD Electrical is a plusWorking knowledge with Allen Bradley PLCs and RSLogix is a plusExposure to HMI / OIT Development using Rockwell and/or Wonderware software platforms is a plusTravel as required to support projects.
