Litigation Counsel

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Litigation Counsel based in United States. This role is designed for an experienced litigator seeking sophisticated commercial matters, meaningful client responsibility, and greater control over their professional path. You’ll work alongside experienced partners as part of a collaborative national litigation team handling complex and high-stakes disputes. The position offers substantial ownership across case strategy, discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, and trial preparation. You’ll work with clients directly, providing practical legal guidance and high-quality work product across multiple active matters. The environment is fully distributed, allowing you to work remotely while collaborating across jurisdictions and industries. It also provides an opportunity to develop the skills and experience needed to shape and grow an independent legal practice. Accountabilities: - Manage significant portions of complex commercial litigation matters with increasing independence and ownership. - Draft dispositive motions, substantive motions, motions to compel, meet-and-confer correspondence, and other pre-trial filings. - Manage discovery processes, including developing strategies, coordinating responses, and handling related disputes. - Take and defend depositions and assist with witness preparation. - Support trial, arbitration, and mediation proceedings across complex commercial disputes. - Handle matters involving multiple jurisdictions and cross-border considerations. - Communicate directly with clients, providing timely updates, practical recommendations, and strategic legal guidance. - Identify legal and case-management issues proactively and develop effective solutions with limited supervision. - Collaborate with experienced litigators and colleagues across a national, distributed team. - Manage multiple active matters while maintaining high standards of responsiveness, organization, legal judgment, and work quality. - Contribute to sophisticated litigation work across a diverse range of industries and business contexts. Requirements: - 7–10 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation matters. - Trial experience and demonstrated experience supporting or managing litigation through significant stages of a case.

- Admission and good standing in at least one U. S. jurisdiction. - Experience with multi-jurisdictional litigation and cross-border commercial matters. - Some experience litigating in federal courts. - Strong legal writing skills, with experience drafting dispositive and substantive motions and other pre-trial filings. - Ability to independently manage substantial portions of litigation, including discovery, depositions, witness preparation, and trial-related work. - Strong legal judgment, attention to detail, responsiveness, and organizational skills. - Excellent client and colleague communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical recommendations. - Ability to influence and collaborate effectively within a national litigation team. - Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple matters simultaneously. - Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take on new challenges rather than relying solely on established approaches. - Background in business, finance, or another commercially focused discipline is preferred. - Candidates located in the Central or Eastern U. S. time zones are preferred. - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
