This is a hands-on role for someone who likes variety, doesn't want to sit at a desk all day, and wants their work to actually matter.

About Pro Soft Water Treatment

Pro Soft Water Treatment is a locally owned water treatment company serving the greater Tampa area for over 8 years. We install and service water softeners, reverse osmosis drinking systems, and whole-home filtration for homeowners on both city and well water. Owner David Welch built this business the right way - through honest service, quality work, and genuine care for every customer. We're a small team, which means the right person here isn't a number. You'll be trained directly by the owner and you'll see your work make a real difference in the business.

The opportunity

This is a ground-floor role inside a growing local business - and it's built for someone who wants range. You won't be boxed into one task. Some days you're in the field installing and servicing systems. Other days you're handling bids, talking to customers, and helping move the business forward. We're looking for a "renaissance man" - someone capable, reliable, and willing to wear a few hats while becoming a true asset to the company.

You'll start by shadowing and training, then grow into running installs, service calls, repairs, and customer-facing work on your own.

Position: Water treatment field service and sales technician
Location: Greater Tampa area - primarily field-based, covering Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, and Dade City. Local candidates strongly preferred.
Employment type: W2 | Full-time
Schedule: Roughly 32-40 hours/week | Standard hours 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM | Flexible structure (4- or 5-day weeks available based on business needs)

You'll be responsible for

• Installing water treatment systems - assembling, loading, plumbing, and setting up softeners, RO systems, and filtration equipment in customers' homes
• Diagnosing and repairing existing systems on service and warranty calls
• Conducting bids and estimates for homeowners, both in person and over the phone
• Handling customer calls and service requests with professionalism and care
• Both inside and outside sales - presenting solutions to customers and helping grow the business through self-sourced outreach (door-to-door, local networking, social media)
• Tracking all jobs, leads, and customer notes in HouseCall Pro (our CRM)
• Lifting and maneuvering equipment - this role involves regularly lifting water treatment cylinders (approximately 10" x 5 ft, 100-150 lbs) into and out of a truck and into homes

Who thrives here

Required:

• Physically capable of regularly lifting 100-150 lbs and performing hands-on physical work in the field
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently without constant supervision
• Comfortable talking to homeowners and willing to learn the sales side of the role
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• Located in the greater Tampa area (or serious about relocating - see below)

Preferred:

• Background in plumbing, home services, construction, or any hands-on trade
• Some customer-facing or sales experience
• Mechanically inclined and a fast learner
• Familiarity with HouseCall Pro or a similar field service CRM

No prior water treatment experience is required - if you're capable, dependable, and willing to learn, we'll train you on everything.

What you can expect

Compensation:

• Base pay: $18.00/hour (W2) - consistent from day one of training
• Commission on sales you handle and close, on top of your hourly wage - you earn more as you contribute more
• Pay increases as your skills develop - strong performers see their hourly rate grow quickly, with continued raises over time as the role expands

Support and tools provided:

• Hands-on training alongside David - you learn the trade and the business directly from the owner
• HouseCall Pro CRM for all scheduling, lead tracking, and customer management
• Some inbound leads generated by existing SEO, advertising, and referrals
• Ongoing coaching and support - you're being built up, not thrown in the deep end

Relocation: Open to candidates relocating to the Tampa area for the right fit. While this role does not include relocation assistance, we move quickly - typically 1-2 weeks from interview to start for the right candidate.
