General Surgeon

Jobot is seeking a Locum General Surgeon to provide on-site operative and call coverage for a hospital partner. In this locum assignment, you will manage a diverse mix of general surgery cases, including elective procedures and urgent/emergent consults. Responsibilities include clinic or inpatient consults, pre- and postoperative care, rounding, and performing laparoscopic and open surgeries. You will collaborate closely with hospitalists, anesthesia, and OR staff while documenting in the EMR and upholding quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Provide operative care for a broad range of general surgery cases, including elective and emergency procedures. Manage pre- and postoperative care, including consults, rounding, and discharge planning. Participate in on-call coverage for emergency department and inpatient surgical needs. Collaborate with hospitalists, anesthesia, nursing, and ancillary teams to coordinate patient care. Document all encounters accurately in the EMR and follow hospital protocols and regulatory standards. Perform both laparoscopic and open procedures consistent with training and hospital capabilities. Participate in handoffs and care coordination with other surgeons and specialists as needed. Adhere to evidence-based guidelines, patient safety standards, and quality metrics.
