Mammography Tech - Breast Imaging

DESCRIPTION The Mammography Tech primarily performs screening and diagnostic breast imaging procedures, and may also be required to perform or assist in interventional breast procedures. The role ensures operational effectiveness in the breast imaging area with a focus on patient flow, customer service, equipment oversight, and adherence to quality control guidelines. The Tech collaborates with radiologists and clinicians to implement new procedures and processes that secure seamless operations. The incumbent maintains continuing education specific to breast imaging, contributes to and participates in the organization of work, training, and evaluation of staff as part of a self‑directed work team. Knowledge of radiation safety principles is demonstrated, and competency is verified through exams in all breast imaging procedures. All tasks are performed in accordance with radiology imaging protocols and policies. Work hours are flexible and may include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on‑call duties, and occasional overtime to address unexpected staffing needs. Familiarity with computers and new technologies such as PACS, digital mammography, RIS, and HIS is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Complete certification training program for radiologic and mammographic technologist. California Radiology Technologist of Mammography (CRT‑M). BART or BLS at time of hire, with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire. Demonstrated competence in PACS, digital mammography, and computer use. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS At least one (1) year of experience as a mammography technologist. Registered technologist for mammography issued by ARRT (R.T(M)(ARRT)). SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on‑call, and locations based on the 24‑hour medical center’s business needs. Must be able to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, weekends, and some overtime if necessary for unexpected staffing issues. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $114,234 - $142,047 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $54.71 - $68.03 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for this role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
