Duties include but are not limited to:

• Designs and maintains a quality control program for digital radiographic images to include, but not necessarily be restricted to, evaluation of image quality from modality to viewing monitor
• Works with on-site or contract Medical Physicist staff to develop and institute a preventative maintenance program and oversight of the x-ray tube and protocol certification.
• Ensures all JCAHO mandates and Inspector General requirements for departmental quality control are met.
• Works with Radiation Safety Officer to ensure the Fluoroscopy database is maintained for the service and effectively manages the results according to guidelines created by the Machine Produced Radiation committee.
• Develops Quality Control methods and programs to evaluate and monitor the imaging techniques of the technologists in each imaging modality.
• Identifies and determines training priorities, conducts and administers training programs, develops and improves training guidance.
• Provides instruction and guidance in daily operations of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and assists with the speech recognition dictation system elements.
• Aids in the oversight of the VR/Critical Results systems to ensure collaboration of both PACS and VR systems
• Provides first line technical support for image transmission or display errors related to modalities, display workstations, and printers.
• Assists the Chief of Radiology or Chief Technologists in the assessment and procurement of new equipment.
• Maintains communications with vendors and service teams to ensure that working technical processes are sufficiently supported.
• Complies with all safety/fire prevention rules/regulations, using protective equipment when required and provided.
• As necessary, prepares contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist for the purpose of performing exams requiring injectable solutions such as IVP, cystogram, cholangiograms, fistulograms, myelography and arthrography and for the purpose of performing oral and rectal exams of the GI tract.
• As necessary, performs radiographic exams in the department, at the bedside and in the operating rooms
• Oversees repository of Standard Operating Procedures for the department, while also supporting responses for Local/National Inquiries and Suspenses.

Work Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday- Friday
