Welding Technician

We are seeking a skilled Welding Technician who is adept at producing metal components through various welding techniques. This position requires a strong understanding of welding processes and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Possess an advanced understanding of welding necessary to produce metal components.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/Tag out protocols.
• Weld two or more different types (Mig, Tig, etc.).
• Set up components for welding according to specifications.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws with the Quality team.
• Adjust welding machines as needed.
• Accurately report daily production quantities to meet the set number of parts per hour.
• Ensure consistent and accurate counts of materials and products.
• Perform daily maintenance on welding machines.
• Conduct necessary quality checks on products and complete daily communication.
• Set up workstations according to safety standards to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established procedures.
• Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
• Complete the first part approval process for complex jobs.
• Tack weldments or components for robotic welding as needed.
• Touch up points in the robotic weld cell when necessary.

Essential Skills

• Advanced understanding of various welding techniques.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Proficiency in welding two or more types such as Mig and Tig.
• Skill in setting up components for welding and adjusting machines.
• Experience in testing and inspecting welded surfaces.
• Ability to report production quantities accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Fabrication skills.
• Experience with robotic welding processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aitkin, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
