Location: Baker City, Oregon
Pay Rate: $50.41 – $52.41 per hour
Position Overview
Our client, an established healthcare organization, is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist for an onsite, 90-day contract engagement in Baker City, Oregon. This role serves a community-focused patient population and offers real breadth of practice, with cases spanning orthopedic, neurological, and general deconditioning presentations.

Key Responsibilities
You will perform comprehensive initial evaluations, gathering relevant history and objectively measuring strength, range of motion, gait, balance, endurance, and functional mobility, then establish measurable goals aligned to each patient's baseline and personal priorities.
You will develop and deliver individualized plans of care using therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait and transfer training, neuromuscular re-education, and appropriate modalities, revising the plan as the patient's presentation evolves across the episode of care.
You will educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, activity modification, fall-prevention strategies, and the safe use of assistive devices, with a focus on building the understanding that sustains adherence after discharge.
You will complete evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries accurately and within required timeframes, and coordinate closely with referring physicians, nursing, case management, and other therapy disciplines. Supervision of physical therapist assistants and aides may be part of the role.
You will manage your own caseload and daily schedule within departmental productivity expectations, adapting to cancellations, add-ons, and urgent referrals while protecting continuity of care. In a smaller community facility you will also contribute to general department operations, including equipment upkeep, supply awareness, and supporting colleagues across disciplines when demand peaks.
Requirements
An active, unrestricted Physical Therapy license valid in the state of Oregon is required at the time of hire, along with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree or equivalent qualifying degree from an accredited program and good standing with the state board.
Prior clinical experience is required, with at least one year of post-graduation practice strongly preferred. Current BLS or CPR certification is required.
You must demonstrate independent clinical reasoning, efficient caseload management, and reliable documentation practices. Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with electronic documentation systems are essential, as is the ability to work onsite for the duration of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience across outpatient, acute care, home health, or skilled nursing settings is preferred, and candidates comfortable adapting across populations are especially well suited to a smaller community facility.
Board certification in a clinical specialty, advanced manual therapy training, dry needling certification where permitted, or vestibular and balance rehabilitation training are viewed favorably. Prior contract or travel therapy experience is a plus.
Comfort working with a high degree of clinical autonomy is important in a smaller facility, where you may be the primary therapy resource on site for stretches of the day. Experience across the lifespan from pediatric through geriatric populations, and willingness to treat in more than one setting within the organization, are both valued.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range for this engagement is $50.41 to $52.41, based on experience and credentials, across a 90-day contract with a defined end date.
