As a Phlebotomist, you will be the compassionate face patients see when they need blood draws for diagnostic testing, health screenings, or treatment monitoring. Your expertise will ensure specimens are collected safely, accurately, and efficiently, supporting vital clinical decisions. Responsibilities:

• Draw high-quality blood samples from patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.
• Prepare and label specimens for lab testing, ensuring proper handling, documentation, and chain of custody.
• Explain procedures to patients, creating a reassuring atmosphere and demonstrating sensitivity to their comfort and confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate records of all performed procedures and specimen tracking in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment in accordance with health and safety policies.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors such as initiative, accountability, and teamwork while focusing on process improvement and patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate with laboratory and clinical staff to ensure timely and error-free specimen processing.
• Adhere to confidentiality policies, handling patient information with discretion and integrity.

Required Skills:

• Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws, with a minimum of 6 months of hands-on experience.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, ensuring positive interactions with diverse patient populations.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively in a busy setting.
• Familiarity with keyboard/data entry, ensuring accurate documentation and specimen tracking.
• Certification in phlebotomy (preferred or required depending on location), with current licensure or registration if applicable.
• Ability to perform confidently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Medical assistant or paramedic training or background.
• Experience working in retail or service environments, providing exceptional patient or customer service.
• Additional certifications in healthcare or laboratory procedures.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Up to one year of phlebotomy experience preferred, with a demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture and dermal punctures.
• Previous experience working in clinical or laboratory settings is advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for data entry and specimen documentation.

Other Requirements:

• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite within a 20-25 minute commute window. Candidates commuting farther may not be suitable.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Valid phlebotomy certification (required in certain states such as California, Nevada, Washington).
• Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and excellent attendance-excessive absenteeism or tardiness will not be tolerated.
• Physically capable of standing, bending, and handling specimens for extended periods, with the ability to lift up to 20 pounds when necessary.
