Position Summary...

Sign-On Bonus: Post hire you'll be eligible to receive a $1,000.00 sign on bonus. This bonus will be paid in one installment of $1,000.00 on or around your 1st paycheck, not to exceed 30 days post hire and provided you have timely commenced employment.

The signing bonus is taxable income and will be reduced for required withholding taxes. In the event that you voluntarily separate from Walmart / Sam's Club or you are terminated for a violation of Walmart's Statement of Ethics within your first 2 years of employment (24 months) you will be responsible for the full repayment of your signing bonus.

Provides member service by acknowledging the member, identifying their needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, resolving issues and concerns, and promoting the company's products and services. Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking merchandise, setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays, removing damaged goods, signing and pricing merchandise appropriately, and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise. Maintains the sales floor in optical area in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages. Receives and stocks merchandise in the optical area, and organizes and maintains the optical area by following company procedures, utilizing equipment appropriately, merchandising, and completing paperwork, logs, and other required documentation. Operates hardware such as cash registers or related equipment, processes member purchases, and assists in payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges using appropriate procedures for different membership and payment types. Sells optical products and services by assisting members with purchasing decisions, measuring, adjusting, and repairing frames and lenses, completing eyewear/contact lens orders, identifying and verifying prescription information, completing and maintaining paperwork, forms, and other required documentation, collecting payments for doctor services, and performing and recording results of optometric pre-tests.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.50 to $27.50* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent upon job entry or within 12 months of hire or to sit for American Board of Opticianry (ABO) exam. Meet the requirements to work as an Optical associate (for example, minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure when required by the Optical organization and/or by State Boards of Opticianry, as applicable.) Must obtain American Board of Opticianry (ABO) certification within 15 months of hire or job entry. Willingness and ability to work with Manager to register and maintain own NPI number as required by state law. Licensed/Registered States Only: Meets or can satisfy state law requirements to become an apprentice optician and licensed optician. Must obtain state-required optician licensure within 18 months of hire or job entry for full-time associates, unless the applicable state licensure requirements mandate additional training hours. Must complete all applicable state licensure requirements and obtain optician licensure within 3 months of completing the minimum apprenticeship hours required by the state.
