In this high-level management role, you'll supervise 35–40 staff members and oversee daily activities for work crews handling routine maintenance, emergency response, and special projects. You'll manage about an $18 million annual budget, coordinate equipment and resources, ensure safety, and work closely with engineering teams and core business services on staffing, budgeting, training, and operational planning. Up to $3,000 relocation is available for those moving 50+ miles to join the premier community where people choose to live, work, and play!About the PositionProvide leadership and oversight for stormwater operations, including daily functions and emergency responseSupervise and coordinate activities of field crews and supervisory staffPlan, schedule, and manage routine maintenance and operational activitiesCoordinate staffing and deploy personnel and equipment for scheduled and emergency workMonitor workload distribution, crew assignments, and equipment utilizationEnsure compliance with county, state, and OSHA regulations, including safety procedures and equipment useDeliver excellent customer service and maintain strong relationships with residents, agencies, and internal departmentsCollaborate with internal teams, manage interlocal agreements, and coordinate external vendors and resourcesDevelop long-range maintenance plans and support stormwater initiatives in partnership with engineering teamsMonitor, evaluate, and improve operational efficiency, recommending adjustments as neededPrepare and manage operating budgets, expenditures, business plans, and resource allocationAssess staffing needs, support hiring processes, and conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actionsManage materials, supplies, and inventory to support operationsDevelop and deliver training programs for staffStandard Work Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.About YouBachelor's Degree in construction, engineering, or related field AND six (6) years of progressively responsible related experienceOR Master's Degree in construction, engineering, or related field AND four (4) or more years of related experienceOR May consider substituting years of experience for the four (4) year degreeAND Four (4) or more years of supervisory/management experienceValid Florida driver's license at the time of hirePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of current principles and practices relating to utility operations and maintenanceKnowledge of applicable federal, state, and local policies and regulations related to wastewater and stormwater managementKnowledge of the health and safety hazards and precautions associated with the work performed in the sectionProficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and OutlookStarting Pay Range: $95,000.00 - $112,000.00/ annually, based on your experienceOur interview process could include phone interview(s), Microsoft Teams video interview(s), and/or in-person interview(s).Enjoy great benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Flexible Spending Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Florida Retirement System (FRS) and many, many more!
