Inpatient Pharmacist

An Inpatient Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescribed medications, providing medication education, and delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care to support safe, effective, and timely patient outcomes. The role ensures adherence to high standards of practice and compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately according to physician orders.
• Educate patients and healthcare staff on medication use, interactions, and side effects.
• Monitor and evaluate patient medication therapy to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain complete and accurate medication records in compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and adjust treatment plans.
• Ensure medication safety protocols are strictly followed at all times.

Qualifications

• Hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited program.
• Possess or be eligible for a Kansas Pharmacist License.
• Prefer prior hospital pharmacy experience.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of pharmaceutical practices and laws.
• Exhibit excellent communication and patient care skills.
