Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit with a 1:3–1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity
• Manage a patient population that includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary conditions, sepsis, high-flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
• Administer and monitor a variety of vasoactive and cardiac medication drips including dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine
• Maintain high throughput expectations consistent with a step-down level of care
• Collaborate closely with an on-unit educator to support clinical practice and staff development
• Participate in weekend rotation, working up to every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or a compact state
• Experience in an IMC, PCU, or Stepdown clinical setting
• Proficiency in managing vasoactive and cardiac IV drip medications
• Ability to care for patients with dysrhythmias, sepsis, and high-acuity cardiopulmonary conditions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience managing behavioral patients requiring IV drip therapy
• Familiarity with high-throughput step-down unit environments
• Experience working with on-unit educators or in structured clinical support environments
