Industrial Electrical Technician

• Location: Sandston, VA
• Shift: 1st Shift
• Pay Rate: Up to $35.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications
• Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly
• Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Position Summary

Wise Staffing Group is seeking an experienced  Industrial Electrical Technician for a full-time opportunity in Sandston, VA. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electronic systems, production machinery, equipment, and facility systems in a manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams, and a solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. This is a hands-on position that requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and electronic maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose electrical issues and identify effective solutions to minimize equipment downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical and electronic components and systems.
• Assist with mechanical maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
• Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Complete assigned work orders and ensure repairs are completed properly and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, paperwork, and required computer data entry.
• Maintain appropriate parts and supplies inventory.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Assist with training and supporting other maintenance team members.
• Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience or documented technical training.
• Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to use a standard, non-metric measuring tape.
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• High school diploma or higher preferred, but not required with relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent use of hands to handle tools, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms and perform hands-on electrical and mechanical work.
• Ability to occasionally sit as required.
• Must have adequate vision to perform essential job functions, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodations available when applicable.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Work areas are  not climate  controlled and temperatures may range from approximately 30&degree;F to 110&degree;F .
• Employees may encounter varying temperatures, machinery, equipment, and typical manufacturing-related conditions.
• All safety procedures and required personal protective equipment must be followed.
