Maintenance Mechanic Job at Arkema Geneseo, NY

Job Summary Performs the installation, maintenance, servicing, repairing, and rebuilding of all plant equipment including buildings and grounds. Supports a manufacturing facility that runs 24/7. Hours Hours: 6AM - 6PM and 10AM - 10PM. Days: Rotate 4 On/4 Off (each 4 day block you work 2 days 6a-6p and 2 days 10a-10p). Responsibilities Effectively troubleshoot electrical, instrument and mechanical problems in the field. Understand, execute and follow all life critical procedures in the execution of maintenance activities. Repair, install and service all plant equipment. Inspect and repair all buildings and grounds including underground services. Execute all tasks necessary as assigned to support plant operations. Test all work for proper operation prior to turnover to production. Provide feedback to supervision pertaining to out of calibration instrumentation and any abnormal equipment observations. Maintain a clean, organized shop and clean design practices during day to day work activities. Follow planning/scheduling protocols for the completion and documentation of work order status. Assist with LAN troubleshooting as required. Support BBS process by performing observations. Support Loss Control policy, AIMS, ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems. Qualifications HS Diploma and 5+ years experience in industrial maintenance; prefer chemical manufacturing. General mechanical, electrical and fabrication experience with knowledge of PLCs and VFDs. Basic skills in MS Office; knowledge of SAP preferred. Must be able to climb ladders and work at significant heights. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; both to lift and carry. Must be able to wear a respirator and enter confined spaces. #J-18808-Ljbffr
