Their history spans over 200 years and today they are a leader in investment banking, consumer and small business banking, commercial banking, financial transaction processing, and asset management.

DESCRIPTION

Tax Operations - Global Shares Team

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure consistency in information reporting practices within accounting systems.
  • Prepare and maintain procedure documentation.
  • Mapping process flow for transaction information and recipient information for CIB clients.
  • Prepare communication on status of tax document preparation, progress, accuracy, and correction, and present to Management.
  • Maintain metrics on account filings and corrections.
  • Research, communicate, and resolve questions for key stakeholder(s).
  • Perform preliminary checks on tax reporting information, before Tax Season and Print Day validations.
  • Assist in overall needs of the team and provide support in areas of specialty as well as during peak periods.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-6 years of US Tax experience (FATCA, 871M, withholding)
  • Financial Services/Banking experience (Custody product knowledge a PLUS)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) for Data Reconciliation
  • College degree or relevant work experience
  • Ability to perform tax reconciliations
  • Project Management/Analytic experience
  • Demonstrated Communication skills with Senior Management
  • Ability to adhere to procedures, controls, and deadlines.

Reporting Specifics:

  • AEOI – FATCA and CRS reporting for an entity regarded as a custodial financial institution
  • 1042S reporting
  • T5/T5008 reporting (Canada)
  • W form validation, US Indicia and the subsequent application of back up withholding
  • 1099 B and 1099 Div reporting as well as 1099 copy to IRS filing

Nice-to-Have

  • Alteryx, Visual Basic, or other technical skills a PLUS
  • Familiarity with internal custody systems a PLUS
