Experienced Asphalt Equipment Operators Wanted

We are now accepting applications for Experienced Asphalt Equipment Operators for the Houma, LA & surrounding area. Duties/Responsibilities may/may not be limited to the following:

Job Scope: Responsible for operating a variety of equipment for groundwork and construction purposes.

Duration of Job: Temp to Hire Based on Job Performance.

Requirements for Position: Experience with operating asphalt equipment (asphalt paver, screed, rollers, broom skid steer, backhoe, etc...); Must be able to pass drug screen.

Required Skills: Excellent hand-eye coordination; Great written & verbal communication; High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills; Ability to work well with others.

Duties/Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures; Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers; Observe distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow, and indicate low spots for workers to add material; Assist in placement, displacement, and moving various traffic control devices; Set up and tear down equipment; Shovel, rake and spread asphalt; Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places; Transport raw materials to production workstations; Lift and carry merchandises/material as needed; Inspect merchandise upon delivery to identify any damages; Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency; Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment; Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies; Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance; Maintain equipment in safe and good working condition; Manage housekeeping activities when requested; Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized; Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities; Cleanup work area and equipment after work is completed; Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner; Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards; Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working; Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment; Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards; Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS; Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks; Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments; Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions; Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases; While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions; The employee is occasionally exposed to loud noise, fumes, and/or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.

Documents Required: Driver's License/Identification; Social Security Card/Birth Certificate.

MUST be able to provide PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, & gloves); MUST have reliable transportation.

Pay: Starting Pay: $20.00-$25.00 Per Hour (DOE); Weekly Pay; Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Weekends as Needed); 8 - 12 Hour Days (With Weather Permitting).
