About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:30 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: New York license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - MS/Telemetry experience - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias - Use of Rapid Response/Code teams - Blood product administration - Central line care/management - Peripheral line care/management - PICC line management - Starting and maintaining IVs - Management of cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) - Management of seizure disorders - Substance withdrawal management - Non-invasive airway management (BiPAP/CPAP) - High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) - Oxygen administration - Isolation precautions/PPE - Telemetry monitoring experience Description: Shift will be from 07:30 to 19:30. Weekend coverage is every other weekend. The unit accepts travelers with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Patient ratios are 1:6 during days and 1:7 during nights. On weekends, the patient ratio is 1:8. Common patient diagnoses include COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule out. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretary. Job requires travel experience. Candidates should have Epic charting system experience. Background reviews are conducted on a case-by-case basis. Candidates may float to different units as needed.
