About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN - Blood Cancer Oncology Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care oncology experience License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, Chemo and biotherapy certificate preferred Description: Travel RN position available in a specialized oncology unit. The unit focuses on blood cancer treatments and patient care. The facility has 18 beds and a dedicated staff of 37. Night shift staff includes one charge RN with no patient assignment and 3-5 RNs. Patient ratios are typically 3-4 patients per RN. Common equipment includes tele monitors, bladder scanners, and Alaris pumps. Electronic medical records are managed through the Meditech system. Candidates should possess strong skills in acute care oncology. Experience in handling complex oncology patients is preferred. Lumbar punctures and bone marrow biopsies are among the procedures performed. Compassion and adaptability are essential traits for this role. The unit has received recognition for quality measures in patient care. The environment promotes teamwork and collaboration among nurses. Education on handling hazardous drugs is provided.
