Material Planner

Our client supports the restaurant and hospitality industries and is looking for someone that knows how to ensure the right materials are available at the right time while maintaining optimal inventory levels and minimizing costs. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain material requirements plans (MRP) based on production schedules and customer demand.
• Monitor inventory levels and place purchase requisitions to prevent material shortages.
• Coordinate with purchasing, production, warehouse, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Analyze inventory data to optimize stock levels and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
• Track supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
• Review production schedules and adjust material plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory and planning records in ERP/MRP systems.
• Support monthly inventory counts and reconciliation activities.
• Prepare reports on inventory status, material availability, and planning performance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and supply chain best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Other Helpful Skills:

• Knowledge of demand planning and inventory management techniques.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) is an advantage.
