Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background for a night shift inpatient position in Urbana, IL.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting, including general inpatient units and the Emergency Department
• Respiratory care department serving Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient populations
• Performs blood gas analysis (Arterial, Venous, and Capillary), ventilator assessments, and sleep therapy documentation
• Uses Epic EMR for charting and charge entry
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• Weekend rotation: approximately every other weekend (3 weekends per 6-week period)
• Holiday coverage required on a rotational basis
• No on-call or floating requirements

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of relevant Respiratory Therapy experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Current IL RCP License required (if applicable)
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA) and NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
• Proficiency in blood gas analysis, respiratory equipment maintenance, and sleep therapy documentation
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
• Conduct patient assessments, evaluate care plan outcomes, and recommend timely interventions or referrals
• Maintain, prepare, test, and process respiratory therapy equipment; report malfunctions to management
• Document sleep therapy compliance, patient responses, and procedures accurately in the EMR and relay findings to the physician team
• Assist with stocking and cleaning respiratory care equipment and supplies on inpatient units
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
