Travel RN – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), Night Shift

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Alternating Weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity)
• Perform titration of vesicant medications and manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Manage and monitor ventilators, tracheostomies, and telemetry interpretation
• Assist with and maintain hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation, transvenous pacing, and cardioversion
• Support procedures performed on the unit including central line insertion, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
• Document all patient care accurately using Cerner ; float to all areas of the facility per traveler floating policy

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Proficiency in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Experience with ventilator management and tracheostomy care
• Competency in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CCRN certification preferred
• Experience with IABP, Impella, and/or CRRT strongly appreciated
• Familiarity with hypothermia protocols and IABP management
• Experience with Baxter IV pumps and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
