Position Summary:
A Security Systems Analyst with the depth of knowledge and technical abilities to serve the crucial role of ensuring American Centrifuge Operating, LLC (ACO) Security Access Control and Alarm System (SACAS) remain in compliance with site plans, policies, procedures and guidelines. The SACAS consists of three subsystems; an Intrusion Detection System, an Access Control System (ACS) and a Closed-Circuit Television System (CCTV), all working in tandem to ensure the site security posture is maintained and functioning properly. Duties include but are not limited to the evaluation, design, upgrade, installation, optimization, performance and analysis of the security system hardware and software related functions. Timely system analysis and manipulation are often required to mitigate vulnerabilities on site. Specialized platforms such as Hirsch, Velocity, Avigilon and Honeywell Systems are deployed across the Centrus Energy and ACO enterprises. You will be responsible for detailed documentation of residual risk using approved methodologies and maintaining comprehensive records of all technical analyses, device deployments and system adjustments. Your expert analysis and recommendations will directly contribute to the enhancement of site security plans and ensure rigorous compliance with all applicable cognizant security agency (i.e., U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission [NRC) requirements, as well as the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), 32 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 117 and any other regulations Security Management directs.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth technical assessments and continual analysis of Intrusion Detection System (IDS), ACS and CCTV systems, with a specific focus on Hirsch and Avigilon technologies.
Provide technical support and assistance to fellow security and engineering team members to encompass the design, documentation, and execution of comprehensive test plans assessing the operability and effectiveness of the specified SACAS components.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of device installation, system adjustments and testing activities within secure databases, ensuring audit readiness.
Ensure compliance with all applicable NISPOM and NRC guidelines and directives, as well as site licensing documents, security plans and procedures.
Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) regarding changes to regulatory requirements and guidelines concerning system configuration and performance to ensure the performance of the SACAS is up to date and performing optimally.
Work with the security team to ensure system personalities are accurately reflected in applicable training, evaluation and qualification standards for system operators, engineers, maintenance technicians and vendors.
Actively participate in walk-through inspections, self-assessments, and committee meetings to proactively identify and resolve security deficiencies.
Collaborate effectively with site security managers and supervisors, Inspectors, mutual aid organizations, and law enforcement agencies as required.
Assist with establishing, when needed, specialized vendor analysis and system enhancements, ensuring adherence to procurement and government contracting standards.
Provide false alarm rate (FAR) and nuisance alarm rate (NAR) data to security management.
Monitor both hardware and systems for indicators of unauthorized attempts to modify or bypass the intended system functions by either Protective Personnel, Operations or any other personnel. Report to security management any issues as they are found.
Participates in security event investigations as the system SME. Report on investigation’s findings to Security Management.
Process procedural and training changes, qualify as Change Evaluator CE.
Other duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications:
Technical degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Security Management, Cybersecurity) or equivalent combination of technical experience and certifications demonstrating advanced expertise in security systems.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive safeguards and security experience, with an emphasis on security systems, threat/vulnerability analysis, and training development within a government or high-security industrial setting.
Demonstrated expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with Hirsch, Honeywell, Identiv, Velocity, Avigilon systems (or similar) including advanced system programming, Video Management Systems, complex troubleshooting, and seamless integration within enterprise-level security architectures.
Advanced understanding and practical experience with performance and operability testing procedures for security devices, including the ability to develop custom test methodologies.
Ability to work collaboratively in the performance of comprehensive vulnerability and risk analyses using approved methodologies.
Ability to respond to the site 24/7/365 for system related issues.
Travel less than 10%.
Preferred Certifications:
Certified Alarm Technician Electronic Security Association (ESA) Level I, II, or III
Honeywell Certified Security Installer/Technician (relevant to intrusion detection)
Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM)
Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Security+ U. S. Department of Energy Derivative Classifier (Safeguards & Security topics)
Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI) Reviewing Official
Active NRC/DOE Q or DoD Top Secret (TS) security clearance is highly preferred
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Q security clearance.
Must be able to complete Hirsch required certifications in a timely manner.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Participation in random drug testing and incident related testing.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
